Lou: All you need to do, is be

Lou, after Otis & June

I cherished those first days feeling like my body had earned rest when people insisted I lay down while they cared for me. There aren’t many times as a mother when you get permission to sit back and let others do everything for you. Meals being delivered and prepared for you, cups of tea being made, dishes being done, washing being folded and put away. It was such a treat. I was able to listen to what my body really needed. After the birth of both my babies I felt a strong urge to stay close to them for every moment, cuddling, feeding and sleeping. When people around you can help with everything else, all you need to do is, be.
